89th annual DPSCD and DIA Student Art Award Ceremony

89th annual DPSCD and DIA Student Art Award Ceremony

Today, I had the joy of attending the 89th annual DPSCD and DIA Student Art Award Ceremony, and it was such a proud moment as an art teacher. Our very own Shau’Ri Neloms represented Burns beautifully with her stunning weaving piece. Not only was her work considered for the media posters, but it was also featured on the HUB and is now hanging proudly in the DIA.

Seeing her work displayed alongside pieces from students across the district was incredibly inspiring. The exhibit truly highlights the creativity, skill, and voice of our young artists.

I highly encourage you to take some time to visit the DIA with your family and friends to experience this amazing showcase. Admission is free, just bring your driver’s license or state ID. It’s a powerful reminder of the talent our students bring into the world every day.
